Brownstown library unveils adult programs for October

The Brownstown Public Library recently announced adult programs for October.

The Adult Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to discuss “The Senator’s Wife” by Liv Constantine. The novel is a psychological thriller that upends the private homes of those who walk the halls of power.

The club is designed to provide an informal, congenial atmosphere for patrons over 18 years of age to share their literary interpretations of the current book selection. Everyone should read the month’s selection before the meeting. They can feel free to attend, even if they haven’t finished the book if they don’t mind hearing how it ends. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussion, but listeners are welcome.

Light refreshments are served by individuals from the group on a volunteer basis. Extra copies of the book selection are available one month in advance at the library circulation desk.

Craft Night will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. Participants will upcycle wine bottles into scarecrows. The class is limited to 10 as supplies and space are limited.

Crochet and Chat will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Join fellow crocheters at the library for an hour of crocheting and chatting. Knitters and other fiber artists are welcome as well. Some basic instruction can be provided if needed.

Registration for programs is required and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.
