David E. “Hawk” Hinton, 68, of Seymour passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born Oct. 7, 1947, in Seymour, he was the son of Raymond E. and Martha Schneck Hinto, both of whom preceded him in death. On Jan. 5, 2002, in Seymour, he married Judy Duncan, who survives.

David was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He retired from Cummins, after 33 years, where he worked as a quality engineer. He was in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion. He loved any kind of sport and was always outside playing something including golf every day after he retired.

He was an accomplished guitar player who enjoyed all types of music and played every night and danced with Judy whenever the opportunity arose. He started out in the Citations, Crepe Soul Band, who reunited in 2005, and was in the 96.3 Blues Band. He loved to draw and passed this characteristic on to his grandchildren. He was always doodling on whatever paper he could get his hands on.

Besides his wife, survivors include his children, P.J. Hinton, Andy (Kara) Hinton, Joseph A. (Amanda) Easton and Jason L. (Ali) Easton; seven grandchildren, Sage, Brody, Bella, Josie, Taylor, Bennett and Jena; and a sister, Linda Hinton.
