Edward Joseph “Joe” Disque



Edward Joseph “Joe” Disque lived a good and full life alongside his loving best friend and companion, Marj Walters. He fought a very brave battle with ALS. We are grateful for the caregivers who took such good care of him.

He was the father of five children: Angela Effinger, Rebecca (David) Harmeyer, Adam (Bridget) Disque, Brian (Tonya) Disque, and John (Audrey) Disque. He was blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Kayla, Laura, Jack, Ben, Griffin, Maggie, Jaden, Landon, Bryar, Case, Caden, Willa, and Lexi. He is also survived by nine of his ten siblings: Tom (Jan) Disque, John Disque, Terri (Larry) French, Jan (Joe) Lustig, Kathy Marcisz, Jerry (Bonnie) Disque, Donna (Steve) Schuck, Jim Disque, and Bill Disque.

He is predeceased by his parents, John and Eunice (Hansome) Disque, as well as his brother, Steve Disque.

Joe was born on March 20, 1953, in Seymour, IN. He graduated from Brownstown Central High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Sullivan Business College. He worked at Jackson County REMC for 35 years and retired in 2015. His favorite hobbies include camping, tinkering with antiques, country road trips, watching his grandkids fish in his pond, and visiting with friends and family.

Funeral services for Joe will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia, with Father Dan Staublin officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 14th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. The burial will follow at Vallonia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Indiana Chapter of the ALS Association and St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
