Cleo Donahue, 91, of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 7:53 PM on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN.

Cleo was born on Saturday, November 21, 1931, in Jennings County, IN to the parents of Byron D. and Bertha Marie (Keith) Trisler.

She attended school in Paris Crossing until the schools closed and graduated in 1949 from Crothersville High School.

On November 10, 1950, in Jennings County, IN she married Michael E. (Gene) Donahue, and they shared many happy years together until his unexpected passing on November 16, 1995.

Cleo worked at the former U.S. Shoe Factory in Crothersville, IN before her children were born. Later, after the kids were in school, she was employed by the Crothersville School Corp. as the audio/visual technician, and she also worked in the school cafeteria. She became a real estate broker and owned &operated Cleo Donahue Real Estate for many years before retiring. She was a member of Crothersville Christian Church where she was an active member and participated in the Ladies Tea.

Cleo stayed very active with her memberships in the community. She was a member of the Happy Apronettes Home club, the Realtor’s Association, enjoyed playing cards in the euchre club, and attending all her grandchildren’s events. She loved working in her yard, flowers, kept an immaculate house &manicured lawn, and was the official corn hole champion of the Lutheran Community Home. She was dearly loved by all the staff at The Lutheran Community Home. Cleo had a big heart and opened her home to all her family. She was a caregiver to many family members and friends who did not have anyone. Being so family oriented, her favorite thing was having Sunday dinners with her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

Cleo is survived by her 2 daughters, Chata (Mark) Toppe of Seymour, IN, Tamyra (Lonnie) Pinaire of Seymour, IN, 4 grandchildren, Holly (Kyle) Coates of Seymour, IN, Zachary (Abby) Toppe of Indianapolis, IN, Ashley Jones of Bloomington, IN, and Jacqueline (Joe) Listerman of Burlington, KY, a niece who Cleo thought of her as her first grandchild, Tiffany (Boo) Bishop and their children, Audrey &Drew, all of Deputy, IN, 10.5 great grandchildren, Grady Coates, Cooper Coates, and Colt Coates, Griffin Toppe, Kaitlyn Jones, Hudson Jones, Madeline Listerman, Bethany Listerman, Pius Listerman, Joan Listerman, and a baby boy making his arrival in August, 3 siblings, Joann Moore of North Vernon, IN, Cheryl Trisler of Crothersville, IN, and Mark (Jewell) Trisler of Crothersville, IN, and her best friend since high school &sister- in-law, Pat Trisler of Jeffersonville, IN.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, Byron D. and Bertha Marie (Keith) Trisler, husband, Michael E. “Gene” Donahue, 2 brothers, Billy K. Trisler &Larry Trisler, and 1 sister, Carol Sue Trisler.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Home &Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery in Paris Crossing, IN.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory~Crothersville and after 10:00 AM, on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be given in memory of Cleo, to Cana Cemetery c/o Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory, 110 East Howard Street, Crothersville, IN 47229.
