Antique farm machinery show planned for June

The 14th annual Jackson County Antique Farm Machinery Show will be June 2 and 3 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 476 E. County Road 100S, Brownstown.

The Jackson County Antique Machinery Association Inc. event will start at 8 a.m. daily with the opening of exhibits and vendors and then a 9 a.m. prayer, followed by the National Anthem.

The show will feature Case and International tractors, international engines, garden tractors and equipment. All makes and models are welcome.

Admission is $2 for adults and free for children 12 and under. There also will be a free gate entrance June 2 for veterans.

A golf cart permit fee is $5 with proof of insurance. No ATV or bicycles are allowed on the show grounds.

The show also will have handicap parking with assistance if needed.

An antique tractor drive begins at 10 a.m. June 2 with a silent auction going from 1 to 4 p.m. that day.

Other June 2 events include a cakewalk that will start at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. with tractor games starting at 2 p.m. and a bean supper with live music at 6:30 p.m.

On June 3, there will be a pedal pull and barrel train at 11 a.m. with a ladies skillet throw at 1 p.m. There also will be an outside auction at 1 p.m. and a men’s wrench throw at 2:30 p.m.

A swap meet and flea market also will be available.

There will be live demonstrations of basket weaving, woodworking, blacksmithing and jewelry making throughout the show.

A variety of food will be available from the Carr Township Conservation Club, Crothersville FFA porkburgers, Wheeler Concessions and Kovener’s Korner.

The show is sponsored by the Jackson County Visitor Center and area merchants.
