SEYMOUR, INDIANA

On March 27, 2023, Sharon Scott, beloved mother, devoted Christian, and a dear friend to many, passed away at the age of 81 years old at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana.

She was born in Seymour, Indiana on August 26,1941, to the parents of Arch and Margaret (Goecker) Breitfield. She lived her adult life in Brownstown, Indiana with her two sons Ryan and Nathan Scott. In her earlier days, she enjoyed her career working as a phlebotomy technician at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana for over 30 years. She was a loyal member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a part of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML).

Sharon loved having friends and family gatherings that would include activities such as grilling foods, fishing, and playing games. She enjoyed playing card games like Skipbo and Freecell solitaire. She also found great pleasure in spending time with her close friends. Her other hobbies included watching IU basketball games on television and playing volleyball on the Seymour and Brownstown women’s volleyball league in her younger days.

Sharon was loved and respected by many within Jackson County. She was known for having a warm heart and a contagious smile.

Surviving relatives include sons, Ryan (Leah) Scott; Nathan (Mary) Scott; granddaughters Brie and Kennedi Butler; grandson Bristin Butler; brother, William Breitfield; cousins, nieces, and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; and sister Lois Byrkett.

Friends may visit Sharon’s family from 9:30 am until the service at 10:30 am, Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, Indiana.
