Howard “Bub” Eugene Stidam, of Medora, passed away unexpectedly on the late evening of Sunday March 19, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center. He was 80 years old.

Bub entered this life on February 22, 1943, in Bedford Indiana. He was the first son born to Calvin Stidam and Mildred (Daulton) Blair. He was a graduate of Medora Community Schools, Class of 1961. He was also a baseball and basketball player for the school. After graduating from Medora Schools, he joined a road construction crew and went west to work. He was one who was never far from home long, he came back and went to work at the GM Foundry in Bedford. He became a Brick Mason while at GM. He later took early retirement from GM and started his own company, Stidam Masonry. With his new company, Bub laid bricks for new home construction for over 30 years, until his retirement 7 years ago.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, and Pap. He was also coach to many students of Medora Schools. He coached both the girls and boys’ basketball teams and a girls’ softball team for many years. He loved fishing, tending to his gardens and fruit trees, and working with horses.

His leaves a legacy of love with his family, Daughter Teresa Anderson and her fiancé Randy Smith of Vallonia, a son Tracy Stidam of Vallonia, grandchildren, Daulton Anderson and his wife Maria, Alisha Stidam and her fiancé Brandon Busuttil, Ian Anderson and his wife Kourtney, Leah Stidam, and Griffin Stidam, three great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way, brothers, Steve Stidam and his wife Kathy of Tampico, David Stidam and his wife Vickie of Brownstown, and Steve Blair and his wife Pam of Medora, sisters, Carolyn Sands of Medora, and Linda Patton and her husband Mike of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Georgia (Evans) Stidam, stepfather Don Blair, a sister RuthAnn Robison, and a brother Tim Blair.

Funeral Service will be conducted at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on March 23, 2023, at 6:00 pm with Pastor Stan Thomas officiating. Burial will be private.

Friends may visit on March 23, 2023, at Hague Funeral Home from 3:00 until time of the service.

Memorials may be written in Bub’s name to the Medora High School Athletic Association
