SCIPIO, IN

Kent Eugene Rogers, 86, of Scipio, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. He was born on August 26, 1936, in Mt. Carol, Illinois, the son of Carol and Nevada Topfer Rogers. He married Georgia Williamson on December 6, 1969 in Bethel Pentecostal Church in Seymour and she survives.

In addition to his wife Georgia, Kent is survived by four children, Rachel (Chris) Wooley, Michael Rogers, Matthew (Kay) Rogers, and Abigail “Abi” Rogers; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Gerald (May) Rogers.

He was preceded in death by one son, Philip N. Rogers; his parents; one sister, Ellen Rogers and two brothers, Carol Rogers and Maurice Rogers.

Kent was a member of Higher Ground Christian Assembly in New Albany, Indiana. He owned Rogers Tree Service with his sons who continue the business. Kent enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 1p.m. at the Voss and Son’s Funeral Service in Seymour. A burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery in Reddington. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
