Seymour school board meets tonight

The Seymour Community School Corp. board of education will meet at 7 p.m. today for its monthly meeting at the Seymour Central Service Center, 1420 Corporate Way.

The meeting will include the consent agenda, communications and recognition, donations and grants and an update on the school construction projects.

Assistant Superintendent Lisa Ferguson will talk about staff awards and recognition. Then Shawn Mahoney will discuss the robot parade.

Audience and school board communications will then be heard, followed by Seymour High School Principal Greg Prange and Seymour Middle School Sixth Grade Center Principal Loriann Wessel, who will discuss donations for each of their respective schools.

First read items include a policy update, 2023-24 student handbooks, Summer Feeding Program, permission to seek quotes for signage design and installation at the intermediate school and SHS, an upgrade of business office software, an amendment of the PERF agreement, permission to seek subcontractor quotes for the soccer facility and permission to apply for a digital capacity grant.

Board meetings are open to the public and press.

Board members also plan to meet in executive session at 6 p.m. today to discuss items related to personnel, property, litigation and school safety. That’s closed to the public and press.
