City workers recognized for years of service

City workers were recognized for their years of service during Thursday’s Seymour Board of Public Works and Safety meeting at city hall.

Mayor Matt Nicholson called up each individual to the front of the council chambers to hand them a gift and praise them for their years of service to the community.

“Thank you. I know the jobs aren’t easy, and we appreciate everything you do,” Nicholson said.

Assistant Chief Mitch Noelker celebrated five years with the Seymour Fire Department.

Cpl. Gilbert Carpenter, Officer Craig Owens and Assistant Chief John Watson were recognized for 20 years of service with the Seymour Police Department.

Detective B. Chris Franklin was recognized for 30 years of service with the police department.

Records Clerk Sheila Ortman was recognized for 15 years serving the police department.
