IHSAA releases boys basketball sectional draw

The Indiana High School Athletic Association unveiled the boys basketball sectional draw on Sunday night.

Seymour, Brownstown Central, Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville and Medora all learned their matchups for the postseason, which will begin next week as all five teams close out their respective regular season this week.

Starting with Seymour, the Owls will be hosting Sectional 15 in Class 4A.

Seymour received a bye in the first round and will take on the winner of New Albany and Floyd Central. Jeffersonville received the other bye and will face the winner of Bedford North Lawrence and Jennings County.

The first games will take place Feb. 28, the semifinals on March 3 and the finals will take place on March 4 at 7:30 p.m. The Owls (8-12) close the regular season this week against Shelbyville today and Silver Creek on Friday. Both games will be at home.

In Class 2A, Brownstown Central is in Sectional 46, hosted by Southwestern Hanover. The Braves will play the first game on March 1 against Eastern (Pekin) at 6 p.m.

Henryville will play Austin on Feb. 28, and the second game on March 1 will be between Clarksville and Providence. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Braves and Musketeers on March 3. Southwestern will play the winner of Henryville/Austin.

The finals will take place on March 4 at 7 p.m. The Braves (17-4) close their regular season at New Albany today and home against Orleans on Friday.

In Class A, Trinity, Crothersville and Medora are all in Sectional 62, hosted by New Washington.

The Cougars and Tigers both received first-round byes, while the Hornets have a first-round matchup against Rising Sun on Feb. 28 in the second game at 8 p.m. The winner of that game will take on Crothersville on March 3.

Trinity also will play March 3, awaiting the winner of Shawe Memorial and New Washington. The finals will take place on March 4 at 7 p.m.

Trinity (6-15) has just one game remaining, which is tonight at Greenwood Christian. Crothersville (8-12) will play at Lanesville tonight and at Austin on Friday night, and Medora (9-11) will get an early look at Rising Sun on Friday night and will play at Union (Modoc) on Saturday night.
