Trinity tops Lanesville

Trinity Lutheran outscored Lanesville 16-8 over the final 3:05 of the fourth quarter to post a 58-52 win in the Bollinger Athletic Complex Tuesday night.

A 3-point basket by Luke Coomler with 3:05 remaining started Trinity’s rally.

Levi Pottschmidt stepped up big for the Cougars (6-13) in the fourth period when he scored 10 points, including making eight of nine free throws.

Pottschmidt topped the Cougars with a career-high 20 points, Eli Ballard and Coomler both added 11, Jack Stuckwisch scored five, Levi Froedge scored four, Josh Conrad had three and Peyton Pollert and Kowan Gross scored two each.

Cougars coach Brad Dickey was pleased to see eight different Trinity players score field goals, and Trinity made 16 of 20 free throws.

Trinity’s game at Madison, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to Thursday night.

Medora beats Columbus Christian

The Medora boys basketball team scored a 59-53 home victory over Columbus Christian on Tuesday night at home.

Braxton McCory led the Hornets in scoring with 15 points, Shepard Earl scored 12, Hudson Johnson had nine, Eli Sturgill four, Jaxon Nugen had three and Kade Wright scored two.

The Hornets (7-11) will be back home on Friday night for a matchup against Southern Roads Conference foe Cannelton.

Crothersville falls to CAI

The Crothersville boys basketball team suffered a 53-35 home loss to Christian Academy on Tuesday night.

Preston West led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, Lucas Hilton added 10, Beau Napier scored four, Curtis Thompson scored four and Elijah Plasse had two.

The Tigers are now 8-11 this season and will play at Henryville on Saturday night.
