Office seekers
Thumbs up to everyone who took the time to drive to Brownstown to file a declaration of candidacy for the May 2 Seymour primary election for the offices of mayor, clerk-treasurer and city council. It’s just too bad there weren’t more people willing to seek office.
Visionaries
Thumbs up to Sailing 4 Sight, a nonprofit public charity that offered free eye exams and eyeglasses to homeless and less-fortunate school-age children Saturday at Dr. Marcia Monroe’s office in Seymour. A team consisting of a volunteer eye doctor and staff performed free eye refractions for children, and Sailing 4 Sight provided free eyeglasses when needed.
