SEYMOUR, IN

Dewey Neal Stanton, 70, of Seymour passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 12:34 P.M. at Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on November 6, 1952, in Ash Grove, Missouri, the son of Edward Neal and Barbara Ann (Mitchell) Stanton. On August 9, 1975, he married Debbie Kadel and they later divorced, and she survives.

He graduated in 1972 from Republic High School in Republic, Missouri. He also attended one year of college at Baptist Bible College. He worked for MFA Milling Company for ten years. He also worked for Z-Tech Cleaning Company for eighteen years. He was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church in Seymour.

Dewey is survived by two brothers, Sam (Marilyn) Whatley of Nixa, MO and Greg (Denise) Brown of Wichita, KS; two sisters, Martha (Doyle) Ponsler of Seymour, IN and Edyth (Don) Meyer of Magadore, OH; twelve nieces and nephews; forty-three great nephews and nieces; and three great great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Voss &Son’s Funeral Home in Seymour. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery in Westport, IN. Friends may call Voss &Son’s Funeral Home in Seymour, IN on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 11 A.M. until the time of services at 1 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
