The Seymour Community School Corp. board of education will hold a special meeting to appoint someone to fill Jeff Joray’s vacancy.

Joray was serving as a school board member when he was elected as the Jackson Township trustee in November, and his term begins this month.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Seymour Central Service Center, 1420 Corporate Way, Seymour.

Board President Art Juergens will lead the Jackson Township interim school board member application review. The appointee will complete the seven-person board and will finish out the two years left of Joray’s term.

The special meeting is a meeting of the school board in public for the purpose of strategic planning and is not to be considered a public community meeting.

While open to the public, there will not be time for public participation at this work session.
