SEYMOUR, INDIANA

David Lee Osterman, 79 of Seymour passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his home. He was born May 16, 1943 in Seymour, Indiana to Leroy A. and Hilda Bobb Osterman. David graduated from Seymour High School, class of 1961. He served in the US Army in Germany from 1966 until 1968. Dave met his sweetheart, Regina Christine Runge while in Germany and they were married February 1, 1969 in Seymour. He was a life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He retired from Duke Energy after 31 years and upon retirement, enjoyed working at Shadowood Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling. He was a member of the American Legion, K of C and Moose Lodge 418 in Seymour.

Surviving to cherish Dave’s memories are his wife, Chris, his son, Michael (Michelle) Rhoades, his grandsons, David (Kate) Rhoades, Jonathan (Sarah) Rhoades and Zachary (Whitley) Rhoades, and great-grandchildren, Roselyn Rhoades, Margaret Rhoades, Evelyn Rhoades, Joshua Coe, Linus Rhoades, Lydia Rhoades, Everett, and Zreya Rhoades, his sister-in-law, Margaret (Gustav) Hamburg as well as nephews, Brent and Brian and nieces, Valerie, Shannon, Whitney and Julie. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janet Smith and brothers, James Osterman and Stanley Osterman.

Friends my visit with Dave’s family from 2:00 pm until the service, Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274 with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch, Rev. James Rodriguez and Rev. William Fredstrom officiating. Private inurnment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. A celebration will take place at the Moose Lodge following the memorial service.
