The Crothersville Community School Corp. board of school trustees recently approved the 2023-24 school calendar.

The first day for staff will be Aug. 3, and students will start Aug. 4.

School will not be in session Sept. 4 for Labor Day, Oct. 9 through 13 for fall break, Nov. 7 for Election Day, Nov. 22 through 24 for Thanksgiving break and Dec. 25 through Jan. 5 for Christmas break. Students and staff will return from Christmas break Jan. 8.

Early dismissal days have been added to the calendar with release at 1 p.m. Aug. 25 and Sept. 22.

There will be no school Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Feb. 19 for Presidents Day. Those could be used for makeup days if needed.

School also won’t be in session March 25 through 29 for spring break.

April 15 and May 3 also are possible makeup days.

Early dismissal days for the second semester are at 1 p.m. Jan. 26, Feb. 23, April 12 and May 10.

The last day of school for students is set for May 23, and the staff’s last day is May 24. Graduation for the Class of 2024 will be at 8 p.m. May 24.
