George Franklin “Buttermilk” Ledbetter Jr., age 75, a native of Tipton, Indiana and a resident of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on December 24, 1947 to the late George Franklin Ledbetter Sr and the late Jacqueline (LaMunyon) Ledbetter. He was a Catholic by faith. George was a truckdriver for over fifty four years and was known to all by his CB handle, “Buttermilk”. He was a loving man that was an excellent provider and took much pride in his appearance and his family. He enjoyed mowing grass, off roading, street cars, hot rods and classic old cars. He also enjoyed old music, especially Elvis.

He was a man that was loved and respected by many and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way.

He is survived by his loving wife of over thirty three years, Carolyn (Caudill) Ledbetter of Crothersville, Indiana. Four sons, Richard Ledbetter and his wife Randa of Brownstown, Indiana, Johnny Capriola and his wife Beccie of Mississippi, George F. Ledbetter III and his wife Nicole of Elizabethtown, Indiana and James D. Ledbetter and his fiance Summer Thompson of Columbus, Indiana. Four daughters, Stefanie Miller and her husband Joey of Crothersville, Indiana, Denisa Black and her husband Richie of Columbus, Indiana, Julie Reichenba and her husband Tony of Columbus, Indiana and Lisa Bayne and her husband James of Columbus, Indiana. Three Brothers, Buddy Ledbetter and his wife Polly of Illinois, Grover Ledbetter and his wife Faye of Reddington, Indiana and Gordon Ledbetter of Sheridan, Indiana. Five sisters, Gloria Delp of Kingman, Indiana, Gayle Smith of North Vernon, Indiana, Gwenda Mead and her husband Edward of Columbus, Indiana, Glenda Applington and her husband Clayton of North Vernon, Indiana and Gaylene Allen of Sheridan, Indiana. Sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and his beloved grandpups.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Marlene (Caudill)Ledbetter, one brother, Greg Ledbetter and one grandson, Zachary Reichenba.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery.
