Willadean “Deanie” Toppe, 74, of Commiskey, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at her home.

Born July 16, 1948, in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Delmar Dale Doty Sr. and Martha Elizabeth (McIntyre) Doty. She married Robert “Bob” Toppe on August 13, 1966, at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, he survives.

Deanie was a 1966 graduate of North Vernon High School and was the owner/operator Bass Masters Sport and Tackle in Seymour for 35 years before retiring in December of 2013. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour and a member of Coffee Creek Conservation Club in Commiskey. Deanie enjoyed watching wildlife, sewing, listening to music, vacationing at St. Martin in the Caribbean. Deanie loved spending time with her family.

Surviving with her husband Bob are her son, Robert Andrew (Cindy) Toppe of Brownstown; daughter, Michele (Bob Lewis) Toppe of Martinsville; brothers, Delmar Dale (Linda) Doty Jr. of Henryville and Douglas E. (Lou Ellen) Doty of West Chester, Ohio; sisters, Elaine Leahigh of North Vernon and Nancy (Gerald) Neal of Queensville; grandchildren, Nick (Brittany) Toppe of Vallonia and Alex Toppe of Seymour.

She was preceded by her parents.

In keeping with her wishes private services were held. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Deanie through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
