SEYMOUR

Doris Kleffman, age 92, of Seymour, passed away on Friday evening, December 9, 2022.

She was born on September 18, 1930, in Seymour to the late Charles L. “Cotton” Marsh and Ruth (Simmons) Marsh. On September 17, 1949, she married the love of her life, Herschel Kleffman, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked for many years as an accounting administrator at JCPenney’s Department Store. Doris was a lifelong member at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers. Doris enjoyed sewing, quilting, and working in her flower garden raising the beautiful roses and geraniums. She was known to always have a spotless home and her family says her pie crusts were the best! She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Carmen Herkamp, Tamara Shelton (Max) and Todd Kleffman; Four grandchildren, John Herkamp (Raylene), Paul Herkamp (Canaan), Meghin Clark (Dan), Shirley Anderson (Mark); 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Katheryn Purcell.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Kleffman, son-in-law, Nolan Herkamp, two brothers, Gene Rowland Marsh and Robert Marsh; one sister-in-law, Pauline Root; one brother-in-law, Paul Purcell; and one great-granddaughter, Breanna Easley.

Funeral services for Doris will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 1:00PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers. The family will receive guests at the church from 10:30AM until the time of service at 1:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery-Borchers.
