David Semenuk, 54, of Seymour, IN, died December 2, 2022 after a brief illness.

Dave’s deepest passion was sharing his love for Jesus with his family, friends and through his work with the Gideons of Seymour, the Kairos Prison Ministry of Indiana, volunteering in food pantries and building projects in the community and helping out neighbors, work mates, and any one he met in need. His quick wit and humor could fill a room.

He was strong and loved to play and watch football. He enjoyed woodworking, metal-smithing and gift-giving. Dave was a talented gardener, finding beauty and connection in nature ?often in his own backyard or via hikes to Rainbow Ridge. Dave was passionate in his culinary endeavors and could magically cook for a crowd?he often honored his Ukrainian heritage in his menu choices by creating trays of delicious perogies and pots of savory borscht during special family occasions. Dave had a big heart filled with love which poured out in witness for Jesus his Savior.

Dave was born in New Haven, CT, raised in Lawrenceville, NJ, earned a B.S in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington. He took the first steps on his career path in high school finding employment and camaraderie at The Ice House in Trenton, NJ where he exercised his love for teamwork, physical challenges and logistics work. After college Dave lent his skills and strong work-ethic to Sam’s Club in Milwaukee, moving to New York State and then to Seymour to work at Walmart Distribution Center, followed by SpaceGuard and Lowes Distribution Center in North Vernon.

Dave is survived by son, Tyler Semenuk of Seymour; daughter, Amanda Troville of Forestville, NY; parents, Joan and Nick Semenuk of Portland, ME; brother, Steven Semenuk (Marianne) of New Providence, NJ; sister, Larisa Semenuk (Peter Scott) of Yarmouth, ME; nieces, Emma Scott, Claire Scott, Sophia Mariniello; nephews, Daniel Mariniello, Vincent Mariniello; and former wife, Jill Davenport, Seymour. He is also survived by his faith-based family, brothers and sisters in spirit, particularly Jeff and Alicia were Dave’s biggest champions, seeing him through recent health challenges and so much more.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 8 at 11 am with visitation 9-11 am at Voss &Sons Funeral Home, 315 N. Chestnut, Seymour. Burial follows at Riverview Cemetery.
