Legal Aid planning walk-in clinic

Legal Aid is conducting a free walk-in clinic to offer legal consultation and advice for low-income residents from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 7 at Montgomery, Elsner & Pardieck LLP, 308 W. Second St., Seymour.

Individuals visiting the clinic can expect to receive a 10-minute consultation on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no need to register in advance.

From 3 to 4 p.m., there will be a general advice clinic featuring answers to questions about adoptions, advanced directives, family law, including child support modification, custody, divorce and parenting time, guardianships, powers of attorney, landlord/tenant, protective orders, simple wills and small estates. No criminal law questions will be answered.

There will be an eviction clinic from 4 to 5 p.m.

Legal Aid, which is part of Pro Bono Indiana, is a nonprofit agency providing free civil legal services, attorney referrals and legal clinics to low-income individuals in eight counties in south central Indiana, including Jackson.
