Crothersville battles Edinburgh but falls short 37-32

The Crothersville girls basketball team almost came out with the victory at Edinburgh on Wednesday night, but it was the Lancers who were able to outlast the Tigers 37-32.

Crothersville trailed 6-3 at the end the first quarter, and then Edinburgh extended its lead out to 21-11 at halftime.

The Tigers got it closer at the end the third quarter, trailing 31-23 and then almost completed the comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lancers 9-6.

JoJo Clay led the way in scoring with 16 points for Crothersville, followed by Hali Burton with seven, Dacie Hughes with five, and Morgan Womack and Hayden Pilgrim each scored two.

With the loss, Crothersville now falls to 0-3 this season.

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday night when they play at Trinity Lutheran for a varsity only game starting at 6:30 p.m.
