City council to consider more ARP requests

The Seymour City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at city hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

The agenda includes a public hearing for appropriating American Rescue Plan funding to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, The Arc of Jackson County, American Legion Post 89, Sweet Cheeks Diaper Pantry, Immanuel Lutheran Child Care Ministry, Seymour Water Pollution Control, Seymour Department of Public Works, Seymour Police Department, Seymour Fire Department and Seymour Parks and Recreation Department.

Later in the meeting, Councilman Jerry Hackney with the finance committee will present an ordinance to amend the city’s ARP fund allocation plan and then introduce an ordinance for each of the previously mentioned ARP requests and ask for approval of the first reading.

Also on the agenda, Hackney will ask the council to approve the second reading of ordinances to set the salaries of elected and appointed city officials and employees for 2023, and President Dave Earley will present a resolution authorizing submittal of the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Grant program application to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
