The Crothersville Parks Board is conducting a chili and salsa cook-off Oct. 22 at Bard Street Park in Crothersville.
The entry fee is $10, and people can enter one or both categories. Anyone interested in participating must register by Friday by calling the town hall at 812-793-2311.
Chili and salsa should be cooked in advance, and participants must be set up by 5 p.m.
Public tasting and voting will start at 5:30 p.m. It will cost $5 to taste all chili and salsa during the event.
There also will be prizes, a Halloween costume contest for kids at 6 p.m. and games, and attendees can get a chance to throw a pie in a police officer’s face for $2.
All proceeds will benefit Crothersville parks.
