The Jackson County Council is slated to meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown.
Agenda items include adoption of the 2023 budget, discussion about a public defender pay increase, a request from Ben Thompson of Seymour for an agricultural tax abatement and department head reports.
Council meetings are open to the public and press.
