Dickey Ralph Parman, age 75, of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Parman was a member of Brownstown Christian Church.

Dick was a life-long music educator, teaching Band at Brownstown Central High School for more than 20 years. He also gave private guitar and piano lessons, and he was employed with Southern Indiana Center for the Arts.

Mr. Parman received his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Master of Science Degree from Indiana State University. He was a member of the Columbus City Band and Schoolhouse 4 + 3, and he was involved with CASA, Sounds of Dreams, Jackson County Community Theater, and Brownstown Fund for the Arts. Dick loved helping and training children and adults with life lessons. He also enjoyed playing TAPS for memorial and Veteran’s services and playing poker with his friends.

Born on September 2, 1947, in Seymour, he was the son of Ralph A. and Pearle Chadwell Parman. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in Brownstown. On September 3, 1967, in Brownstown, he married Jane Ann Wayman, and she survives in Brownstown.

Survivors also include one son, Brian (Christine) Parman of Reno, Nevada; one daughter, Rebecca (Tony) Incorvia of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren: Luca Incorvia, Anna Jane Parman, and John Parman; and two brothers: David L. Parman of Monroe City, and Gregory D. (Ann) Parman of Bloomington.

Funeral services for Dickey Ralph Parman will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Brownstown Christian Church with David L. Parman officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Brownstown Christian Church.

Memorials may be given to Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center, Columbus City Band, or Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
