For the first time in school history, the Crothersville junior high cross-country team has qualified for the state meet.
The members of the team are Koby Davis, Jude Howard, Payton Sporleder, Bryson Layman, Kayleb Lauderbaugh and Corban Scott.
This group of Tigers placed third place in the Southern Athletic Conference meet earlier this week.
Lauderbaugh was fifth place in the SAC meet with a time of 10:57. Davis was 10th in 11:50, Scott 20th in 12:54, Howard 25th in 13:11 and Sporleder 28th in 14:57. The SAC meet only includes sixth through eighth grade, so that’s why Layman didn’t race since he’s in fifth grade.
All Tigers are eligible to race in the state meet. The Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championships will take place at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute later today.
