Oktoberfest Ambassadors to help during festival

The city of Seymour has started a new Oktoberfest Ambassadors program to help answer questions and provide information to the public during the downtown festival, which runs Thursday through Saturday.

Mayor Matt Nicholson has appointed a group of volunteers he feels is friendly, approachable, outgoing and knowledgeable about the festival and Seymour.

“Think of it as an extension of the information booth,” Nicholson said. “These people will be available to chat, answer questions, provide directions and just be there to welcome people to Seymour.”

This year’s ambassadors are Kristal Hubbard, Theresa and Rob Schwartz, Robin Ramp, Maria Hauersperger, Chad and Randi Hubbard, Matthew Robinson, Rexanne Ude, Zach Spicer, Sehrish Sangamkar, January Rutherford and Jane Hays. The mayor also will serve as an ambassador.

Each ambassador will be wearing a brightly colored T-shirt with 2022 Oktoberfest Ambassador printed on the back. There will be an ambassador or two located at each end of the festival from 5 to 9 p.m. each day.
