I am not on Facebook or any other social media outlet. I am not one to speak out or voice an opinion openly.
I am, however, a sinner saved by grace, bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. And because of what Christ did for me, I’ve realized that sitting in my own home expressing my sadness and discontent on what is going on in the world today is not enough. For me personally, if I don’t stand up for Jesus and speak out against those who are clearly against God and what the Bible says, then it’s as if I’m saying I don’t believe. And that is absolutely not true.
The article printed in The Tribune by Alan Winslow on Aug. 20 entitled “Next year’s Jackson County Fair queen” is another example of how dark this world really is. “Experts” ( as this article states) now determining that human beings can no longer be divided into only male and female genders. The article also says the “experts” claim there are up to 68 human gender categories.
Transgenderism, boys now saying they identify as a girl and vice versa. Our society and leaders (Barack Obama, Joe Biden, the corporate leader of Walt Disney World and others he mentions) as a whole endorsing this “wonderful new world of gender diversity,” he explains. Schools now not allowed to deny a boy who says he’s a girl, access to girls locker rooms and restrooms and vice versa. Also allowing them to play in girls sports and vice versa.
Gender affirming care, boys who feel they are girls must be regarded as girls by schools, parents, doctors and classmates and vice versa. This also includes the right to children under the age of 18 who choose to be the opposite sex be prescribed drugs that change the puberty process and even undergo surgery to change their bodies to become more of the gender they choose to identify as.
Wow! What a sad world this is. If the people claiming this new knowledge of transgenderism are the “experts,” I’d rather be a fool. The Bible says, “Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become ‘fools’ so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness” (1 Corinthians 3:18-19 NIV)
It is very clear in Genesis 1:27 (NIV), “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” There is no gray area, no 60-plus genders here, not two males or two females, only male and female. I am not lashing out in hate because we are to love one another (John 13:34), but this “worldly” way of thinking is all lies from the pit of hell and satan himself. No amount of hormone therapy, surgery or otherwise can change what God created you to be whether you choose to believe this or not.
At the close of Mr. Winslow’s article, he suggests we all unite with the “good and powerful” in our nation and open our hearts and minds to this way of thinking. To say “yes” when our county high school crowns its first drag queen as prom king and a transgender girl is selected Jackson County Fair queen perhaps in 2023. I say “No!” Not in Jackson County, not in my community, not in our local schools and not in our fair queen pageant.
We have heard the saying “Put your money where your mouth is.” I believe it’s time for all those who stand on the word of God and believe what he instituted from the beginning of creation to “put their faith where their mouth is.” Stand up for Jesus. If you believe the price he paid on the cross for your sins was worth it, how can we not stand up? Be willing to write in and simply say, “I stand for Jesus” and attach your name to it.
We are in a spiritual battle between good and evil. It is essential that we make it known in our community, in our county that we will not endorse this. If we who believe don’t stand up and speak out, then we might as well say we don’t believe.

It must not suffer loss
From victory unto victory
His army shall he lead
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed
