SEYMOUR
Howard Anton Martin Jr., age 79, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and resident of Seymour, Indiana, formerly of Rushville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September, 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born on March, 2 1943 to the late Howard Anton Martin, Sr. and the late Josephine (Tomamichel) Martin. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 23 years. He was an excellent coppersmith and was the owner of Martins Country Creations in Seymour from 1996-2002. He will forever be remembered as a kind, gentle, giving man that was an extremely hard worker and led by example. He enjoyed road shows, travelling, woodworking, remodeling houses and his love for the land is reflective of his more than 50 years of farming. Howard will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 58 years, Diane (Schultz) Martin of Seymour, Indiana. One son, Michael Martin and his husband Scott Thompson of New Albany, Indiana. Four daughters, Pamela Verbarg and her husband Ernest of Lebanon, Indiana, Jennifer Norris and her husband Jeff of Indianapolis, Indiana, Christine Martin of Seymour, Indiana and Kimberly Wolfe and her husband Charles of Seymour, Indiana. Two sisters, Barbara Becker and her husband Noel of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jeanette Thomas and her husband Bill of Indianapolis, Indiana.
One granddaughter, Nicole Cheeseman and her husband Zach of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Andrew Currao officiating.
