Annabelle Mae Pickett, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:17 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Bro. Ricky Persons will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Born on January 31, 1935, in Anderson, Annabelle was the loving daughter of Alva Leroy and Zelma Fern (Davis) Hull. She was united in marriage to Harold Pickett on July 3, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2011.

Annabelle moved to Zenas in the 1940’s. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was known to many as the neighborhood grandma. Annabelle sold Mary Kay Cosmetics and helped build the Pickett Funeral Home with her husband Harold in 1988. She enjoyed traveling, working on genealogy, and flowers. Most of all Annabelle greatest love was her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish Annabelle’s memory are sons, James Pickett of Indianapolis, Michael (Janet) Pickett of North Vernon, and Donald Pickett of North Vernon; daughter, Marcella Templeton of North Vernon; sister, Phyllis Heaton of North Vernon; brother, Donald (Rebecca) Hull of Butlerville; grandchildren, Travis Cruser, Daniel (Sammi) Pickett, Caroline Pickett, Nicholas (Mieko) Templeton, and Kane (Jaimie) Barker; great grandchildren, Blake Templeton, Melanie Pickett, Landon Pickett, and Wyatt Templeton.

She was preceded in death by parents, Alve and Zelma Hull; husband, Harold Pickett; sister, Joyce Koelmel.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
