Dulcinea Lea “Dulcie” Barber, 46, of Franklin, passed away at 10:58 a.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis Central in Indianapolis.

Born on June 11, 1976, in Columbus, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jerry R. and Theresa L. “Terrie” (Buell) Barber.

Dulcie was a 1994 graduate of Jennings County High School and a 2000 graduate of Indiana State University where she received her master’s degree. She worked as a counselor for Christopher and Associates in Seymour for several years. Dulcie loved to watch Duke Basketball, play golf, watch reality T.V., take random trips, and her 2 dogs and her cats.

Dulcie is survived by her parents, Jerry and Terrie Barber of North Vernon; her companion, Amanda Inabnitt and her two sons, Robby and Danny Inabnitt, all of Franklin; brother, Nick Barber of North Vernon; grandparents, Bob and Janet Barber of North Vernon; and nephew & niece, Xavier Barber and Charli Barber, both of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bobbie & Winnie Buell.

A funeral service for Dulcie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in Dulcie’s honor through the funeral home to Judge Robert Brown Jackson County Juvenile Home.
