Veda Murphy, 87, former resident of Crothersville Indiana residing in Middletown KY, passed away peacefully at The Legacy at English Station on August 9th, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on November 20th, 1934 in Jackson County IN to the late Fred Lett and Ester (Sweany) Lett. Veda married her High School Sweetheart, Emerson Murphy of Crothersville, on May 16th, 1952 at Shepard AFB in Wichita Falls Texas.

Veda was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Crothersville where she played the piano and taught Bible School. As a graduate of Indiana University (Nursing) she worked at Seymour Hospital for many years and retired from Valeo Sylvania as Occupational Health Nurse. Veda enjoyed life, traveling, family, and friends. After retiring she spent many years living in Apache Junction AZ until returning to Louisville KY in early 2018.

Survived by her eldest son Michael (Debbie) Murphy of Louisville KY. 2 grandchildren, Lori (Chad) McIntosh, of Scottsburg IN and Christina Murphy, of Hilltop Lakes Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emerson, youngest son, Daniel, granddaughter, Kimberly, and 3 brothers, Marvin, Howard, and John. She was loved my many and will be missed.

A private graveside service for the immediate family will be conducted at a future date. Memorial contributions can be donated to the Crothersville Cemetery.
