Beck’s Mill is honoring Paul Scifres by adding his name to the annual 5K run/walk.

Scifres was a very dedicated volunteer of the historic mill and was very instrumental in helping with all eight of the previous 5K races, according to a news release from Beck’s Mill.

A race in his memory will be Sept. 17 at the mill, 4433 S. Beck’s Mill Road, Salem. The cost is $25. Register online at runreg.com or on the day of the race starting at 7:30 a.m. The timed 5K will begin at 9 a.m.

Snacks will be available before and after the race, and there also will be breakfast by Shady Patch Farm. Race awards and many door prizes will be available for participants to win, too.

All proceeds will go to support Beck’s Mill.
