Thomas J. Eastin Sr., age 77, of Brownstown, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Mr. Eastin was employed at Cummins Engine Co. for 45 years.

Tom loved his family, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved his dog “Eunice”, and he enjoyed traveling across the United States with his wife and friends to street rod car shows. Tom was an avid Purdue fan, and he also enjoyed attending Brownstown Braves basketball games, fishing, and mushroom hunting with his family and friends.

Born on September 13, 1944, in Seymour, he was the son of George and Anne B. Bunton Eastin, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 6, 1965, at Pleasant Grove, he married Judy Kay Rueter, and she preceded him in death on December 1, 2017.

Survivors include two daughters: Lisa J. (Tom) McClusky of Brownstown, and Kris S. (David) Aszman of Brownstown; one brother, D. Dale (Dixie) Eastin of Florida; one sister, Rose (Randy) Eckley of Brownsburg; five grandchildren: Whitley (Michael) Ferguson of Brownstown, Eli (fiancé Brooklyn McDonald) McClusky of Bedford, Miranda McClusky of Brownstown, Robert “Bub” McClusky of Bedford, and Zoee Aszman of Brownstown; one great-granddaughter, AudreeAnne Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Eastin was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Eastin; a brother, Jack Eastin; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Eastin.

Funeral services for Thomas J. Eastin, Sr. will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Terry Fordice officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
