The Crothersville baseball team went on the road to South Decatur on Thursday and suffered an 11-1 loss.

The Tigers scored their run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Blake Robinson crossed home plate.

Crothersville had no hits in the game, but Robinson, Devin Morgan, Matthew Clouse and Reegon Gumm all got on base with walks.

Hilton pitched 1.1 innings and had one strikeout and Robinson pitched 2.2 innings and had two strikeouts.

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday at Orleans at 10 a.m.

Weather postpones games

Due to lightning and weather on Thursday, numerous events with Jackson County teams were postponed or cancelled.

The boys track and field sectionals never got underway at Bedford North Lawrence, so it has been postponed to tonight at 5:45 p.m. Seymour, Brownstown, Trinity and Crothersville will all be in action.

The Seymour tennis sectional did begin but was quickly delayed due to lightning. Seymour was playing against Trinity while Brownstown was playing against Scottsburg.

Those matches have been postponed to tonight at 4:45 p.m. back at Seymour High School.

Trinity softball was 0-0 in the second inning at home against Brown County before the game was cancelled, and Trinity baseball cancelled its home game against Clarksville.

The Brownstown softball team made the trip out to Mitchell, but never took the field as the game was cancelled. Brownstown will have Senior Day on Saturday morning at home against Trinity at 10 a.m.
