Donna Vene (Wehmiller) Tape Patman Downing, age 83, of Vallonia, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

Donna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, where she was an honorary member of the Ladies Aid of the church.

Mrs. Downing was a homemaker, and she loved spending time with her family. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and an avid Jeff Gordon fan. She also had a passion for Indiana basketball and tractor pulling, especially enjoying her sons’ pulling tractor, “If it will, it will”.

Born on March 6, 1939, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Fred and Selma Tiemeier Wehmiller, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 21, 1957, she married Harlen John Edward Tape, and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1994. She then married Raymond Levi Patman on May 1, 1999, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2007. She later married Robert Winton Downing on September 17, 2010, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2017.

Survivors include two sons: Mark (Judy) Tape of Vallonia, and Brian (Amy) Tape of Brownstown; four grandchildren: Clinton (Erin) Tape, Lance (Elizabeth) Tape; Connor Tape, and Carter Tape; six great-grandchildren: Sawyer Tape, Elaina Tape, Eloise Tape, Sullivan Tape, Parker Tape, and Pierson Tape; sister-in-law, Velma Nierman; sister-in-law, Elberta (Roy) Darlage; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was also preceded in death by three sisters: Julia (Arthur) Bishop, Gladys Wehmiller, and Emy Lou (Melvin) Wischmeier; two brothers: Lester (Jewell) Wehmiller, and Ivan (Helen) Wehmiller; sister-in-law, Delores Doyle Melton, and brother-in-law, Wayne Nierman.

Funeral services for Donna Vene (Wehmiller) Tape Patman Downing will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan, with Pastor Joel Meyer officiating. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan.

Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wegan Parsonage Fund, Lutheran Central School, or Donor’s choice.
