Raymond Rouse Jr., 87, of Scipio, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on March 24, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.

Born August 2, 1934, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Raymond Rouse Sr. and Thresia (Forway) Rouse. He married Samantha Kay Corum on June 24, 1956, in North Vernon; she preceded him in death on October 22, 2021.

Raymond was a 1952 graduate of North Vernon High School and served in the U.S. Army from May 1957 until April 1959. He worked the assembly line for NTN-BCA in Greensburg, was a farmer and school bus driver and previously worked for the former Carpenter’s Body Works in North Vernon. Raymond was a member of Brown’s Corner Chapel in Scipio and was one of the original members of the Rescue 20 Squad. He enjoyed camping, traveling, family time, gardening and watching his grandchildren in their activities.

Survivors include his daughters, Candy (Tom) Feiles of Scipio, Rachel (Jim) Allen of Lafayette, and Kathryn (Dan) Schreiber of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Drew Feiles of North Vernon, Heather Feiles of Scipio, Gabriel Allen, Victoria Allen, Brianna Allen, and Nathaniel Allen, all of Lafayette, Amelia Schreiber, and Buddy Schreiber, both of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter, Annie Rouse; grandson, Kyle Feiles; and brother, Fred Rouse.

A funeral service for Raymond will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Raymond to the Browns Corner Chapel.
