Trinity rolls past Christian Academy

The Trinity girls basketball team got a big win on Monday night as the Cougars rolled past Christian Academy with a final score of 57-23.

The Cougars led 21-10 after the first quarter, and then held Christian Academy to single digits points in the remaining three quarters. The 35-point running clock rule came into effect with five minutes to go in the third quarter.

Bailey Tabeling led Trinity in scoring with 21 points, Liza Froedge added 13, Madison Keith scored 10, Kailene Cockerham five, Emma Schepman four, and Hannah Durham and Kayla Goecker both have two points.

Trinity, now 14-7 on the season, will close its regular season by playing at Madison on Thursday night.

After that, the Cougars will play in the West Washington sectional when they take on Crothersville, who they beat 55-25 in the second game of the year on Nov. 20. If Trinity were to win that game on Feb. 4, they’d advance to the sectional championship game scheduled for the night of Feb. 5.

Crothersville falls to Shawe Memorial

The Crothersville girls basketball team returned to action on Monday night after having to cancel a couple games last week.

The Tigers hosted Shawe Memorial but suffered a 48-4 defeat.

Ella Plasse scored three points for Crothersville while Zoe Spangler added one.

The Tigers (3-12) will return to action tonight when they host New Washington at 6 p.m.

Crothersville will close the regular season by playing at Rock Creek Academy on Saturday before playing Trinity Lutheran at West Washington High School in the sectional on Feb. 4.
