The Brownstown boys basketball team went on the road and came back home with a solid 83-71 Mid-Southern Conference victory over Silver Creek.
The Dragons led 18-17 after the first quarter, but Brownstown came back to take a 38-34 lead into halftime.
The Braves led 56-45 at the end of the third quarter and a sustained a solid lead for the most of the fourth quarter for the eventual 12-point victory.
The Braves were led by Jack Benter, who scored 32 points, and Carter Waskom scored 24 points with 22 points coming in the second half.
The win snapped a two-game losing skid for Brownstown and got the Braves back on track to improve to 9-2 on the season.
Brownstown will be back in action tonight to host Trinity Lutheran in a cross-county matchup.
Cougars knock off Shawe Memorial
The Trinity boys basketball team went on the road to Shawe Memorial on Friday night and picked up a much-needed victory over Shawe 63-53.
Trinity ended the first quarter on a 10-0 run to lead 13-5. The Cougars built up a 36-19 lead at halftime.
Shawe was able to close the gap heading into the fourth quarter, trailing by just nine, 46-37. But Trinity was able to hold Shawe off to claim the 10-point victory.
The Cougars snapped a five-game losing streak and are now 5-7 on the season. Trinity will look to continue this momentum tonight as they play at Brownstown Central with junior varsity at 6 p.m. and varsity to follow that at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Tigers fall to Hauser
The Crothersville girls basketball team hosted Hauser Friday night and suffered a 71-17 loss.
Morgan Womack scored seven points, Ella Plasse had five, Kendall Berry had three and Zoe Spangler had two.
The Tigers, now 2-11 this season, will host Dugger Union later today for Senior Night at 3 p.m.
