Eleven members of the Friends and Neighbors Home Extension Club met Dec. 21 at the lakeside home of Ruth Bateman. Each member brought a covered dish to share.

President Ruby Niccum led the group in the opening pledges with the secretary and treasurer each giving their reports.

Bateman’s devotional had everyone singing a line or two of their favorite Christmas song.

Niccum gave a lesson on “Sleep On It: Why Sleep Matters.” She gave everyone a handout sheet explaining steps for a bedtime routine of progressive muscle relaxation. Debbie Shubert added that Bob and Brad, physical therapists, have a program on YouTube that demonstrates exercises for seniors.

Everyone signed a card for Joan Davidson, who had fallen and broken her hip and femur.

Niccum said the club turns 50 years old in 2022.

The next meeting will be Jan. 25 at Cornerstone Community Church in Seymour with Jan Caplinger as hostess.
