Gordon Louis Kovener, age 80, of Seymour, IN, passed away at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Gordon was born on July 10, 1941, in Jackson Co., IN to Alfred Louis Kovener and Stella Louise (Peters) Kovener. He proudly served his country in the Army from 1968-1972. He worked as a truck driver for Thompson Dairy for over 30 years and for over 25 years Seymour Tubing. Gordon was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, as master gardener. He loved his 1956 Chevy and enjoyed attending car shows with his car.

In 1962, he married Delores K. Bobb. They later divorced and she preceded him in death in October of 2020. In 1993, he married Marjorie Copeland and later divorced.

Survivors include his daughters, Lori Ann Tungate of Seymour and Beth Ann Ruwe (husband, the late Carey Ruwe) of Seymour; one brother, Donald Kovener (wife, Joanne) of Maryland; three grandchildren, Kaylena Tungate of Seymour, Destiny Schryer (Caleb) of North Vernon, and Charles “Charlie” Louis Allen Tungate of Seymour; two great-grandchildren, Zaylah Schryer and Hallie Tungate; and his faithful four-legged companion, Buddy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 4PM-8PM at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour. Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 11 at 10AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. Burial and military honors will immediately follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
