Tigers boys, girls sweep Cannelton

The Crothersville boys and girls basketball team both played at Cannelton on Friday night, and the Tigers came away with two victories.

First up was the girls, they jumped in front of Cannelton 20-2 at the end of the first period and rolled to a 69-28 win.

The Tigers held a 39-11 lead at the half and a 61-24 lead after three periods.

Zoe Spangler topped the Tigers with 31 points, including four 3-pointers.

Kennadi Lakins added 22, Ella Plasse 8, Tiessa Stevens 4, and Kendall berry and Morgan Womack scored 2 each.

The Tigers (2-5) will travel to South Central Thursday night for a South Central Conference game.

Then the boys followed that up with a much closer contest.

The Tigers were able to prevail 68-64 to pick up their first win of the season.

The boys were led by Adam Turner, who scored 29 points on the night. Matt Clouse added 11, Zach Helt had 10, Logen O’Sullivan 6, Devin Morgan 6 and Lucas Hilton 2.

Crothersville, now 1-2, will play host to Switzerland County later tonight at 7:30 p.m.
