YAKIMA, WASH.

Jasmin “Jaz” Tapia Ruiz, age 21, passed away on November 19, 2021, at her home in Yakima, Washington.

Jaz was born on June 26, 2000, in Yakima, Washington. A graduate of Yakima online, she was in school for nail technician work, as she absolutely loved to do makeup, take pictures, and decorate for events. She also loved to dress up.

She was in a relationship with Alvaro “Boty” Francisco Alvares for four years. They had just begun their life together. They enjoyed hanging out with their friends and spending time together.

In her spare time when she was with family, Jaz liked picking on her siblings, but she would not ever let anyone else pick on them. She would have coloring contests, and take photo shoots for their birthdays, holidays, and school events. She decorated for all family gatherings. There are so many memories and so many hearts she touched.

Jaz is survived by her mother, Martha; her father, Rolando, one sister, Daniela; four brothers: Tony Tapia, Jr. Tapia, Alonzo Tapia, and Gonzalo Tapia; grandparents: Kandy, Rosario, and Benita; aunts and uncles: Jose, Kandy, Marcos, Yolanda, Yuliana, Palmira, Rene, Jesus, Licha, Yadira, Fermin, Moises, Marco Antonio, and Ramon; several cousins; her boyfriend, Alvaro; and numerous close friends, who were all like family.
