The Medora Timberjacks announced Monday that the team is going to be hosting a toy drive that will last from now through Dec. 15.

The press release states everybody who donates a toy will receive one free ticket to a Medora Timberjacks home game for the upcoming 2022 season.

“Our goal is to try and give back to the Medora community,” said Leah Young, director of basketball operations. “They have fully embraced us with open arms, and this holiday season, we want to try and give back. We want to raise enough toys so that each and every child attending Medora Elementary School can have a great Christmas.”

All toys can be purchased and donated to State Bank of Medora. There is no limit on the amount of toys donated, but there is a limit to just one free ticket per person.

This upcoming season will be the Timberjacks’ second season as a franchise and its first season inside The Basketball League, or TBL. The TBL is entering its fifth season and features 48 teams. The league plays a 24-game schedule between March and May with playoffs for an eventual national championship in June.

The Timberjacks’ schedule has yet to be announced, and the team just hosted its first set of tryouts a couple of weeks ago.

“We were pleased with our community’s reaction to pro basketball last season,” Timberjacks head coach Mark Morin said. “Having an opportunity to take this to another level in a league that focuses on local community engagement but competing for a national championship is very exciting to us.”
