Tigers fall to Waldron
The Crothersville boys basketball team opened its season at home against Waldron on Tuesday night, but the Tigers suffered a 65-45 defeat.
Freshman Beau Napier had a solid high school debut with 22 points. Logen O’Sullivan added 11, Corey Kelshaw had 10, Dirk Crater 6 and Lucas Hilton 2.
The Crothersville boys will be at Orleans on a Saturday night for a game at 7:30 p.m.
Girls basketball
Trinity defeats Providence
The Trinity Lutheran girls basketball team is off to a 3-0 start after beating Providence on the road Tuesday night 60-37.
Liza Froedge led the Cougars in scoring with 20 points. Bailey Tabeling scored 10, Kailene Cockerham 9, Emma Schepman 6, Kayla Goecker 6, Madison Keith 4, Morgan Brewer 4 and Katelyn Schepman 1.
The Cougars will play at Southwestern (Shelbyville) on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
Crothersville falls to West Washington
The Crothersville girls basketball team went on the road on Tuesday night to West Washington and the Tigers suffered a 52-26 loss.
Zoe Spangler led the Tigers with 14 points on the night. Kennadi Lakins added 6, while Morgan Womack, Ella Plasse and Tiessa Stevens each had 6 points.
Crothersville (0-5) will play host Columbus Christian on Saturday at 1 p.m. in search of its first win of the season.
