Russell “Cotton” D. Allman 79, of Seymour passed away on Saturday November 6, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Cotton was born in 1942 to the late Roy and Frieda Wright Allman in Seymour.

Cotton married the love of his life Gloria Williams in 1962. Cotton was retired from the Seymour Fire Department as a firefighter after 24 years of service. He was also a skilled carpenter who worked for the carpenter’s union for several years.

Cotton enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing chess. He also he enjoyed his weekly poker games with friends and family, but most of all he loved being with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Gloria, son Jay (Mary) Allman, daughters; Beva (Chris) Miller, Cara “Missy” (Mike) Tindell, and Heather (John) Mangan, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother; Tom (Karen) Allman, and a sister, Judy Norris.

Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Larry Allman, and a grandson; Jay Michael Allman Jr. “JJ”.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 10, 2021, at Voss and Sons Funeral Service from 4-8 pm and on Thursday November 11, 2021 from 9 am until the time of the service at 10 at Voss and Sons Funeral Service with pastor Ben Yee officiating. Burial will take place at Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Ogilville, Indiana. .
