Ivy Tech Community College is holding a free virtual college transfer series to offer all area residents, including students and alumni, the opportunity to learn how they can transfer their college credits to continue their education.

The first session of the free virtual series, “How do I plan for transfer?” will be at 6 p.m. Monday on Zoom.

The event is open to anyone interested in learning how Ivy Tech credits and degrees transfer to four-year colleges. Current Ivy Tech students and high school students taking dual credit or dual enrollment courses are encouraged to attend. Ivy Tech alumni also are encouraged to attend to learn how they can take the next step in their education.

Representatives from Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Purdue Polytechnic, Ball State and Indiana University Bloomington will be on hand to answer questions about transferring and discuss options with students.

To join the session, visit ivytech.zoom.us/j/99647387865. For one-tap mobile, dial 312-626-6799. For both, the meeting ID is 996 4738 7865.

Ivy Tech offers the Indiana College Core, which enables students to earn 30 credit hours in core college courses that by state mandate are transferrable to all public universities in Indiana.

In addition, the college offers Transfer Single Articulation Pathways, which guarantees students who earn an associate degree that their degree will transfer in full to any public university in Indiana and that they will continue their education as a junior in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.

Starting college at Ivy Tech and transferring credits to a four-year institution could save students upwards of $10,000.

Ivy Tech offers nearly 40 programs in the fields of health care, business, industrial-technical training, technology, human services and general studies.
