The Seymour football team will not be playing this Friday at Floyd Central due to COVID-19 issues.

The Owls are still able to hold practices this week, but they won’t be competing against the Highlanders this Friday.

Seymour is fresh off a 28-24 win over Columbus East, which ended a 96-game Hoosier Hills Conference winning streak for the Olympians.

Floyd Central was off to an 0-3 start this season with losses to Louisville Male (Ky.), Dupont Manual (Ky.) and Silver Creek.

Seymour is 1-2 so far this season and the Owls next scheduled game is next Friday, Sept. 17, at home against Bedford North Lawrence.

Medora volleyball still out of action

The Medora volleyball has been out of action the past couple of weeks due to injuries and players being in quarantine.

Head coach Leah Young confirmed on Monday that the Hornets are still dealing with injuries and quarantines and will not be returning to action this week.

She said she hopes the team can get back on the court within the next couple of weeks.
